Our Halloween~

So Halloween....where to start? This year was pretty interesting. Sariah wanted to be Tinkerbell. I thought to myself, "Awesome! she practically looks like her anyways" and then my mommy imagination sets in and I am picturing a 5 year old Tinkerbell bombshell. You know total sparkling costume with shimmering green tights and looks like she was kissed with the perfect amount of fairy dust. Then reality struck, at the Halloween store of all places, we are seriously fighting in the dressing room. I am holding the beautiful bombshell costume (imagining all the mother's whispering to each other, "whose daughter is that??? What a darling child!) and Sariah is wearing the "other" costume and she is admiring its cheapness and loving how it is flowing over her knees in modesty. I am trying to explain to her that tinkerbell wears her outfit above her knees and, you know, shimmers and sparkles. We come out of the dressing room and I am starting my case for the one that would make me, I mean, her so popular in Kindergarten. Then my level headed judge of a husband tells me that she should be able to choose her own costume! And then he and my child proceed to the counter and buy the stinkin' nun Tinkerbell costume. I am obviously over it now and she did look super cute. I am learning that I have to let my daughter make her own decisions and like I tell myself a thousand times a day, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK!!!"
Oh and Bubba was super cute thanks to a sweet girl at my work. I love when you get to benefit from other people's talents. She sewed this amazing costume for her little boy last year because he wanted to be some kind of dinosaurish thing. Well I showed it to Bubba and he screams, "BOWSER!!!!" You know from Mario-kart. He is head over heels in love and has to wear the hat everywhere, including to our friendly public library complete with poopy diaper!! I felt so cool in there and just told myself for the billionth time in my life, "SARAH, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT PEOPLE THINK!!!"

Okay now that we have that out of the way, lets keep moving forward. We carved the pumpkins my mom got the kids that you will see below. There was also some painted pumpkins that the kids did at their grandma and grandpa nielsen's house that I WAS going to take a picture of. I have used the word "WAS" because all our pumpkins were stolen off of our front porch, except bubba's little one. To say we were sad was an understatement. Poor Sariah's face. We later found out that this is a very common happening every year and you can't leave your pumpkins outside. The teens take them and splatter them on main street for fun! I am used to this happening after halloween, but apparently teens here have forgotten what it was like being a 5 year old and being so excited to see their pumpkin glow on Halloween night.

Mickell is so funny!!! It was fun picking them out. We tried to convince Bubba to get a bigger one, but he was content with his little cute one.
Sariah being herself.

Bubba pondering what his pumpkin will become.

Can we say, "White Trash"? HA HA HA I am so funny! We did this with the bags of leaves we stuffed. I thought it was so creative.

Sariah's school has a halloween parade every year. They come down from the school and walk around the football field so the whole town can come! I must say it was pretty cute. This is her teacher-she has made the move worth it! She has taken Sariah and has gone the extra miles she has needed. I really cannot explain how amazing this teacher is.

Tinkerbell! Yes I did her makeup.....

Bowser. Isn't is so cute?!

Off to trick or treat!
